MX-5 wins ‘Best Roadster’ in used car awards (www.mx-5.com)

Not just once, but twice! That’s right; for a second year in a row our fantastic little roadster has made it to pole position in the Auto Express Used Car Honours. And what an honour it is.

Selecting the Mazda MX-5 for critical acclaim, the UK’s best-selling weekly automotive magazine states “affordable and fun – that’s the winning combination which makes this car so hard to beat. It is too good at too many things.”

Auto-Express also said about the MX-5, which managed to beat both Porsche and Audi, “When the sun’s out, there are few better cars to be driving at any price. Entertaining rear-wheel drive handling, great gear change and responsive engines are the stars, while low running costs and excellent build quality mean the MX-5 won’t break the bank. The simple folding roof is key to the little roadster’s appeal, so it’s easy to take advantage of even the shortest bright spell.”

Collecting the ‘Best’ awards at a glittering ceremony in London, Mazda UK's fleet and remarketing director James Hopkins commented: “It’s always rewarding to have a high profile motor industry and consumer publication, such as Auto Express, confirm that our products are among the best on the market – whether new or used.

“One in every five new sports cars sold in the UK is a Mazda, and demand for our Mazda MX-5 roadster and RX-8 coupe as used cars is incredibly strong. As well as being fun-to-drive, both new and used they represent a great investment as their residual values are robust and their reliability legendary.”
