Hello,

I've blown my engine during my travel through Poland.
I had to transport the car to service in Wroclaw (Japan Tech).
The engine should be changed for the used one from allegro or whatsoever.
Japan Tech estimated the exchange in 7000 PLN for work + parts cost + engine cost.

I don't know polish level of prices, but I had a feeling that this is quite a big cost.
Could you confirm the price level of reparation for engine (exchange)?
Maybe you can recommend some reliable and reasonably priced service?

Run away, they want to rip you off. 7000pln should be enough for all of it depending on the new engine's condition.

Plus it is not the most reliable garage ( as reported by club members)

yeah, but please understand my situation.
I am living in another country and I had to drop the car somewhere and continue with my travel.
My phone was not working, I don't speak polish and I was not able to reach any service by myself.
Fortunately a kind the lady from the petrol station helped me to contact and negotiate the evacuation of my car.
And that's all I was able to do by that time.

I now have options:
a) either to accept this absurd offer, because I am limited in the options and these people using my weakness I guess
b) get a name of verified service from you guys. And any support will be very welcome.
I am really a bit in panic and don't know what to do...

The first issue is, it's super hard to get a NCFL engine in Poland. I'm looking for one for weeks now. Have they offered you a replacement one, or do they want to fix yours?

Guys, any trustworthy miata mechanics in this region?

If not, I say pepeg, take your tow truck, go get this car from Wroclaw, bring it to Krakow and fix it

Anyway, what happened exactly to your engine? Head gasket? Main bearings? What failed?

As I told before: emixfajf is the closest (Kępno) and best option - if'd only he has a possibility to take care of that mx-5.

The main problem is how to get NCfl engine really.

i agree, japantech its not, a best option (for change oil ... maybe)

cost for a tow truck is about 300zł /24h + gasoline
to diagnosis or fix a car, appropriate worshop is as they say above (in Warsaw are too, depends which is closer)

ford duratec 2.0 is the same engine but i think it's the same problem to find it (2.5 it's easier - cost of a good engine 2.0 / 2.5 is about 4000zł )

What exactly happened to your engine? My father fixed three of mine 2.0 NC engines, maybe we can help.
Engine exchange might be problematic, because as guys said - it's hard to get a new one for NCFL.

2.0 FL is very rare to find but for 7000 you could easily swap 2.5L and have it tuned on ecutek

Dear mates!
I am happy to inform that I've reached principal agreement with TopDownMotors.
Since 1.8 and 2.0 engines are hardly available in a decent conditions around, let it be 2.5t swap.
Peter will also help me with arrangements for transportation.

In short words: Blown at high speed. Temperature was fine. No Idea how that happened frankly.
The funny thing here is that after I stopped the car on the highway and inspected the issue (like 40 mins to raise car and take off the wheel), I was able to actually start the engine and made it about 2 kms till the parking aside the highway. Thank you mazda
