Owning a Miata is a unique experience. Do your part to preserve the experience...
Spotting another Miata on the road is a welcome event. Without ever meeting the driver, you can rest assured that you have encountered someone who shares your appreciation for driving AND owning Mazda's wonderful creation.
As a sign of this acknowledgment, some drivers wave or flash their headlights. Though some still practice this tradition, many don't, and most new owners have never learned this important tradition.
The purpose of the Miata "Save the Wave" campaign is to remind owners that when they encounter another Miata on the road, they should:
1. Wave or flash headlights
2. Smile
